Info On All DVD Releases

All DVDs releases - Sterling Ent., NCircle Ent. Mill Creek (in Complete Collection) - use the same print of the film. It's letterbox with full-screen end credits (which came from the TV version).

Compare the shots under the credits with those that appear in the film, and you'll see that the letterboxing is real, and not black bars over a fullscreen image. You see more in the letterboxed shots than you do under the fullscreen end credits. Look at the comparison shots on these pages:

From what I can tell, the movie was made as a "prequel" after the series had started, and it did get a theatrical release. Unfortunately, I doubt that we'll ever get an anamorphic widescreen DVD release with the original theatrical end credits and opening titles (I'm sure the theatrical release didn't have "The Little" written over a panning shot inside the house walls, as all of the DVDs do).
