What kind of car did that kid get?

Remember when Bobby restored that old car for the kid?

What make and model was that? A Plymouth, a Chevy?

1957 chevy bel-air.

Not a 57 chevy
It is a 55 or 56. A 57 chevy has fins that curve up a little in the back
Years previous are straight.

The car in the heavenly kid is a 1957 chevy.Look it up.Watch the movie and look at a 56 and 57 from google images.Everyone knows it's a 57 not trying to sound mean but the 57 is the most well known of them.

It was definitely a 57 Chevy. 55 has no fins, 56 doesn't really either, and the 57 has the trim panels on the quarters, etc.

OMG! Anyone who doesn't recognize a 57 Chevy must've been born under a rock and never crawled out from it! The hell with the fins, that grille is unmistakeable. I'm a self-professed car fanatic, but even people who've never opened the hood of a car before usually recognize a 57 Chevy.

The heck with the car, I like Rafferty's Indian motorcycle (guessing its a '53).

reply

*beep* the car and the motorcycle! I thought the burgers in the movie looked damn good.

what cars did they race in both races? were they junk yard cars? it seems like a waste of cars to drive them over a cliff.

and how many high school kids have extra cars sitting around that they can use to send crashing over cliffs to prove their manhood?

Beautiful car... Very memorable. I'm watching a so-so TV movie right now -"Moment of Truth: Cradle of Conspiracy" and the identical car is featured. I recognized it right off from "Heavenly Kid." The owner has likely made some decent $$ loaning it to movie productions.

And now for something completely different...

It's highly unlikely that a '57 Chevy Bel Air, 2 door would be found a in junkyard, even in 1985. Probably one of the most popular cars ever produced. Unlikely that one would wind up in a junkyard.
