Kevin Dillon's Best Movie?

Does anyone else think this was one of Kevin Dillon's best movies? I think his character was terrific. He was so good in this role. Incredibly funny.

I figured this character and Johnny Drama are an amalgam of what he is really like.

Platoon - by far - is his best movie.

Rooney and his character on Entourage are his best. Platoon, his character was the only one I wanted to die a violent death (American or not) because anyone who shoots a defenseless pig needs to be slaughtered. What he did to that crippled boy who clearly was not all there was horrible as well. Sorry Kevin, I know it is just a movie, but that *beep* went on over there. War is war, but you still need to be a human being.

Yes he was the epitome of the wiseazz kid you hung around with and hated alternately. I knew several people he reminded me of. great movie.

reply

Every one of his scenes in the movie is funny. Rooney and Caesar made that movie.

What the hell did they do to Elvis....cut his balls off?

reply

They certainly did. I've watched it repeatedly throughout the years and had even forgotten Andrew McCartney was the lead due to the Rooney character stealing the show.

reply

Andrew's last name is McCarthy, not McCartney.

Andrew I think had the tougher role because he played the nice, quiet kid. 'Caesar' and 'Rooney' were funnier, showier roles, therefore more memorable. And I certainly haven't forgotten that McCarthy was the lead. I think he did a great job for what the role required. His 'I'm glad I danced with you' to 'Danni' was very moving and sad. It was a sweet and subtle romance.

Back OT, this is for sure one Kevin Dillon's best roles. I first saw him in "Platoon" and he was amazing and downright brutal in that as crazy 'Bunny'. In "Heaven Help Us", he was hysterical as 'Rooney'. He also did a great job playing drummer John Densmore in "The Doors".

To this day whenever I see Kevin Dillon whether it be on Entourage or Platoon, I always think of his role in this movie. He rocked in this film. His character was hilarious and very memorable.

Definitely one of his best and probably his most memorable. He doesn't quite display the same acting chops he does in, say, Immediate Family, but he does a very good job.

reply

Definitely my favourite character of his, Best film was Platoon.
