What do you think was the weirdest part of this movie?
I'm going for the part in the Village of the Crazies where the guy in the white monk robe turns around to show some bare ass. What was that all about? Holy random.

Been a few years since ive seen this movie but I do remember thinking it was rather odd that in the center of crazy town they would decide to build a pommel horse just in case a Gymkata warrior would come to town to kick some ass
shareSurely the craziest moment was when the race started and a guy in the town square was pushed over by the horsemen. It seemed painfull enough, and It didn't look scipted, so I guess they just didn't care enough about the guy to cut and do it over...
shareYou know ... I remember seeing this movie and thinking (in between bouts of utter "disbelief" at how bad this thing was ... even to a little kid with no real world view :-) )nothing could possibly get any dumber than the parrallel bar scene.
Then cam the pommel horse.
Wow.
It's not so much the weirdest part of the movie so much as weird because ... somebody had to choregraph that dang thing.
That "mute guy" massaging the main character when he woke up - though more "spine chiilingly weird" than creepy - deserves a mention, too.
Just saying.
What was not so wierd as it was ridiculous was when Kurt finds his father and as they embrace he is struck in the back with an arrow. Then, later. The two are riding back into town and his father still has the arrow in his back?!?

I wanna give a shout out to the sound effects, awesome they are
" I am not a lady. I am an anthropologist! "

I think the wierdest part is that the movie was actually made. I mena someone had to pitch this idea to multiple people, and they all had to agree to do the film.
Thats wierd.
That Village of the Crazies scene felt like something out of a David Lynch movie. Although, Lynch is a better director than Clouse!
share...So nobody remembers the guy with two faces? He had a beard on one, and was clean shaven for the other. The hell was that guy??
shareI don't know if it ranks as high as some of the other weird moments, but there is a SFX that's cranked up really loud when Thorg punches Hao, and when we watch it, we realize that a punch that makes that much noise would have surely went all the way through his body.
There's also a great bit when Thorg pops out and announces "The finish line for you is right here, Cabot", and due to a foreground tree, it looks like Thorg is hiding behind a sapling.
Funny stuff! Just watched the movie and spotted the SFX that you mentioned. It sounded like the foley people slammed a book on a table.
shareThe guy with the two faces always haunted me about this movie. lol x
I <3 Emily Blunt
I think you'd be hard pressed to find a single stand out scene but either he pommel horse in the middle of the town square, the dude with the face mask or the diplomat guy getting the arrow in the chest, which was my personal faavorite. "Don't worry. It's just a little anti American sentiment running about. But I think...urrrgh!!"
"Hey, look at that! She's not crazy, she's being chased by a cheetah!"
The ol' hag in the village going... Ahh! Ahh!
shareWhat about that old lady screaming out the window of crazy town? That was pretty weird, the way she was screaming reminds me of Krull when the slayers would die they made that high pitched scream.
