If the game 'Gotcha!' is still around...

lol a lot of kids will be expelled from highschool/college. Columbine shootings ring a bell anyone?

"Hail to the King, Baby!"

reply

Actually, it seems to have evolved into the "sport" of "Paintball."

reply

Yea, but a gun game on SCHOOL GROUNDS? Virgina Tech ring a bell?

"Hail to the King, Baby!"

reply

What's with you and the bells?

reply

Yeah stop saying ring a bell or I'll shoot you myself. With a paintball gun, that is... maybe.

I can tell you that we played a similar game at high school in the late 80s using toy dart guns (the kind with a suction cup at the end), and those of us found with guns got sent home for the day and told not to do it again. Now, they would probably call the SWAT team, expel you or send you the juvy delinquent school, and make you go to therapy.

We played this in high school with dart guns, zebra guns and tracer pistols

Of course that was back in '81 - '85, before all the stupidity. We still had school shootings and mass shootings, but we didn't have the 24 hour news cycle so it was easier to keep things in perspective. I wouldn't try it today. Heck, SWAT would probably give you a 180 grain hollow point lobotomy for nibbling a pop tart into a gun like shape. Aren't advances in society wonderful?

In the early 1980s when paintball had just come out and they were still using the single shot agricultural guns used to mark free range cattle I came across a book about it in in the local library and I tried to get the headmaster of my high school to okay us getting a paintball game going as a school activity. He wisely said no. Undoubtedly he knew it would entail fifty students and a half a dozen extremely underpaid teacher hunting him through the woods of Vermont. ;-)
