Soundtrack

A friend of mine in the states downloaded the majority of the songs from GJWTHF they were: Dancing In Heaven (my fave), Shout, On The Loose, Dancing In The Street (the exact version played in the film not the one sung by Mick Jagger, David Bowie etc, Girls Just Want To Have Fun (Cindy Lauper didn't actually sing the version in the film because it had just entered the charts so they got someone else to sing it for the film, this version is Cindy Laupers), I Can Fly, Technique (the song sung when Janie & Jeff are competing in the final)and finally Wake Up The Neigbourhood (the song which plays when the girls ruin Natalie Sands party).

I LOVE listening to the soundtrack, how I found the film is a funny story though..here goes. I used to babysit for a guy who lived in the same street as me, his wife had left him years ago with two daughters and he had to work a late shift a few nights a week, while I was there I looked through the video collection and came across a case with Full Metal Jacket written on it, I'd always wanted to see that film so I opened the case, only it was GJWTHF inside instead, I popped it on anyway to see what it was about and ended up engrossed in it..but it got me thinking..maybe the guy bought it thinking it was a dirty movie! When he got home I told him I'd watched it and said how much I enjoyed the dance competitions (to let him know it wasn't a dirty movie), he ended up giving the tape to me, I wasn't asked to babysit again!

That was nearly 10 years ago and I still have the tape in the front room but I bought myself the DVD version from ebay, it only cost me £7. Anyway, if you still haven't had any luck finding the soundtrack let me know and I'll see if I can email them to you. I love love love this movie but I can't find the soundtrack anywhere either. I've looked up a couple songs and as soon as I leave work today i'm going to buy the movie on dvd, but please, if you have any idea where I can get the soundtrack, drop me a line at: [email protected]

I got the soundtrack a few years ago by requesting it at The Wherehouse. It is only available on cassette. I think you can order from any music store if it's still being published. It is my most prized possession! I love this movie!

I have seen it on ebay but normally its pretty expensive. In fact I am bidding on it as we speak and someone else has put the starting price at 75 dollars and someone actually bid that much. I have the song orbital bebop (dancing in heaven) on a cd. I was so excited that I found it. If you want to know the name of the cd let me know and I will find it for you.

Apparently its really hard to get, but just keep checking ebay. Unfortunately, the few times I've seen it on ebay it has gone up to over $50. I love the movie and the songs, too....

I'm looking for the Shout song. How did you guys find it?
