I saw Footloose but not this movie and I don't want to waste time if it's just another Footloose...although I'd rather see Sarah Jessica Parker (rowr rowr!) or SHannon DOugherty (and even BIGGER rowr rowr!).

No, it is not a rip-off of Footloose. And Shannen Doherty was a kid in this movie...maybe twelve or thirteen. She looks nothing like she does now.
