Cyndi's credited on here as 'woman in diner' seen this film loads but never seen her... Anyone else notice her in the diner scene?

That's not her in the diner. Some fan must have added her name as additional cast. Her "appearance" in the diner scene is simply mistaken identity, just like people swear it's bruce willis playing the drums at Natalie's birthday party. There is a girl in the diner scene, who kinda has a Cyndi Lauper-esque look. Interestingly, if I recall, the girl in the scene was actually one of the "extra casting" assistants. I forget her name. It's been too long. I was there.

No it's totally her in the diner. Go back and watch the scene. It's Cyndi.

I kept rewinding the diner scene, but I can't seem to find her. If she's there, hair and makeup disguised her too well.

She is not in it - she didnt approve of em using her song in it which is why they had another artist cover it. She assumed this would have went straight to video.

The song wasn't written by Cyndi, but by Robert Hazard. Cyndi didn't permit her version to be used in the film, which had some changes and additional lyrics.

I also thought it was Robert Downey Jr. coming out from under the table at the party but he wasnt in the credits

That WAS Robert Downey Jr. He had a cameo appearance which are often not credited. He was dating Sarah Jessica Parker at the time and would often visit her on set. However, that WAS NOT Cyndi Lauper. It was just some punk girl with similar hair. I don't even think it looks much like Cyndi.
