This movie is beyond bad. I never seen it before, the only thing I remembered about it was the creature coming out of the toilet(GROSS!) It was on cable and decided to give it a try-what a mistake.
Suprisingly the creatures did not look that bad as far as the FX was concerned-1985. Why did this guy want these creatures-where were they from? Who were the dwarf people?
I cant believe there are 3 other movies in the series!

The Ghoulies and dwarf people I think were from another dimension. With them, Jonathan can gain magic powers and the like. The dimension they come from is never shown.
Think 1 was successful enough for 2, which was more comedic. Kind of like GREMLINS. 3 is basically a dark sex comedy. 4 is a lighter dark comedy, and has two new creatures and the same actor from 1 but the creatures are just midgets in costumes, not stop motion effects. The third one really plays on the monsters in the toilet angle.
3 and 4 have some hot actressess though. That tan woman from CSI MIAMI was in part 3.
