The black kid hits "Jason" with a tractor

And he just gets back up?

Thats one of the reasons why this movie sucks. Jason is supposed to be a normal man yet Roy the killer acts like Jason when he gets hurt. There's a scene where Roy bursts through a door just like Jason would do and its stupid since Roy wouldnt be able to do that. They were more concerned with tricking the audience than plausability.

What about the F13 franchise is plausible?

The War has only begun, will you defend your destiny?

Well all the black kids look alike, lol....just kidding. I was looking reggie up a few weeks ago. I thought he was the guy from the tv show mike and molly.

reply

mike and molly.

I thought it was him also - Until I looked it up on imdb.

reply

Not much but like I said, making Roy act just like Jason was lame as it was only done to trick the audience.

That scene reminded me of the scene in Austin Powers where the security guard stands there with his hand up yelling, "STOPPPPP!" for like 5 minutes while the steam roller approaches him.

reply

Nah jk, that scene was hilarious. My buddy and I used to get drunk and have a MST3K kind of movie viewing with others and he said one of the funniest things about that scene.

"Black kid on a tractor? Wtf? I'm here to kick ass and eat cornbread.....and I ran out of cornbread"

Keep in mind that in the first installments, JASON was alive. He could survive a lot of things just for being tall and strong. In that sense, this scene maintains the continuity.

Why I would like to know is how does REGGIE know how to operate that thing?

reply

I figured the people at the home showed him how.

I kind of knew it was Roy playing Jason. I forgot if there was any explanation why though.

reply

It's all in his behavior and how the film goes out of its way to establish him more than a disposable body to be impaled with a sharp instrument.

He can't be alive!

I think since Roy was a paramedic he was injecting himself with stuff to numb the pain an give himself Jason like strength

Channel Six News, they'll finger anything with a pulse!

"Keep in mind that in the first installments, JASON was alive."

No. Jason died in 1957. At no point in the F13 series is he alive in the natural sense. He's "undead".

reply

why did they put reggie in that loud neon red jumpsuit throughout the while film????

reply

The trap in the twist is that we need to be led to believe it is Jason although Roy is actually portraying him. So exploding through a door, ably battling a running chainsaw with just a machete, and getting hit by a tractor and barely conveying the impact's effects are what we get. Because we need to be snookered into believing this is not a mad paramedic avenging the loss of his son.

I wonder if anyone who saw this in '85 actually thought it was someone other than Jason? hmm
