Wasn't as bad as people make it out to be

Fans label this one of the worst installments in the franchise. I, however, disagree. This movie was the last "true" Friday the 13th. So what if Jason wasn't the killer? He wasn't the killer in the first one. The nudity in this movie is great, I thought the hillbilly characters were funny, and the film is just entertaining. The entire series wasn't meant to be taken serious anyways, so I appreciated the cheesiness in this one. The only gripe I have with this film is the kills. There wasn't anything special, the kills just lacked compared to the other installments. Anyway, this is one of my favorites of the franchise along with Jason Lives and Freddy vs Jason.

So underrated!
The characters are great, there's plenty of hilarious and memorable lines and it still feels like an old school Friday the 13th atmosphere wise.
It even has a few catchy songs of all things. "Hey Baby", "A rat tat tat tat tooie", and "His Eyes (song Violet dances to)" are terrible but so memorable <3

Fun, fun Friday the 13th.

I love this one! One of the best!

I still consider this one to be the last true Friday the 13th sequel.

Fun Fact: Corey Feldman actually liked this movie and felt that if he were to ever reprise his role in this series, he'd want to pick up exactly where this one left off, which I think it a pretty cool idea.

Fun Fact: Corey Feldman will say and participate in ANY project to get him back into mainstream popularity.

Although this is one of my favorites of the original "Friday the 13th" films and very underrated.

I don't think it's bad at all. Not even close. I think it's the best of the sequels as a matter of fact. My opinion is that people hate it for the same reason they hate Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Jason didn't technically appear in the film except for dream sequences just like in H3 Michael didn't appear in the film except for a television broadcast of the first film. It is extremely underrated and I think the people that say it's the worst of the series are way off.

No Jason and the kills are heavily censored.

No thanks

Who cares if Jason isn't the killer . He wasn't the killer in the original either. Also you don't even known he's not the killer till the last 5 minutes. How does it affect how entertaining the film is? It's just such a lame and outdated reason for disliking the film.

This is one of my faves of the francise, I'm surprised that so many people dislike it.

No Jason and noooooooo Jason. So *beep* what? Boohoo. The eariler part said it all, The Final Part (with alive Jason). Also kills are actually much more censored and even lame in part 6 and 7 if you mean in plot. If you mean that movies was cut by MPAA get better copy and stop winning. Newer copies like blurays are non cut but some old vhs or dvds maybe heavily cut. Its not movie's fault that old times there were censors who wanted kill violence in movies.

I actually think it's the 4th best Friday movie.

1.The original
2.The third one
3.The second one
4.This one

It's truly underrated.

Well the MPAA did cut this one quite a bit. I heard they were upset and felt like they were lied to when The Final Chapter wasn't the last one. That's why the Final Chapter has more gore. The MPAA probably thought they'd go easy on it since they truly believed it was the last.
Then 5 came, and they forced them to make more cuts than ever to get back at them.

Nope, this one plain sucks. I could care less that Roy is the killer. The characters are horrible. All of them are annoying and unlikeable. The hillbillies are really bad and I compare them to the annoying clown cops in Halloween 5.

There are just way too many people just set up for kills. It does nothing for me. The directing is damn pedestrian as well.

reply

COULDN'T care less.
Did you also dislike 6? Cause that had numerous randoms there to just be killed too. The paintballer scene is more like the cops from Halloween 5 than anything. The music, the everything.

reply

The paintball scene was just kill filler but at least it was more interesting than what we got in part 5.

I think that part six is one of the best directed in the series. It actually brought some atmosphere and suspense back into the series. Something that part 5 really lacked.

reply

Well Jason is in it at the beginning briefly. I like this one it is full of cheesy dark humor, gratuitous t and a and memorable characters. The only gripe is it was butchered by the MPAA to much. This was the last Friday film to have the eighties feel to it.

This is an awesomely fun sequel. Boo-hoo, Jason wasn't the killer. So what? This is still one of the most well paced, sleazy, and straight up whacked out entries in the series. Sure, the killer reveal is kinda "Wuuuuh?" but it hardly matters because the film is just so much damn fun.

Here is a shocker. I like this much better than part 4. Part 4 has some great gore, ans yes Crispin Glover dancing is funny, but I find a lot of that film rather dull. It just kinda drags in a way the other sequels don't.

SPOILER ALERT FOR PSYCHO II

This movie reminds me of Psycho II. The killer was not really Norman Bates, but the movie sets up Norman Bates to be crazy, so he can be the killer for Psycho III.
