A rare perfect movie

This is one of those rare perfect movies.

I can't find a fault in it; the story is interesting, you never know what happens next, the movie begins interestingly and evolves into a rollercoaster of tension and excitement, while still keeping the laughs coming - ALL the while solving an immersive mystery!

Chevy Chase is extremely funny in this, both physically and verbally. The acting performances are superb, and the women beautiful and bubbly.

The whole thing is peppered throughout with amazingly funny comedy, and Fletch just OOZES the magical 1980s atmosphere in a very strong and powerful way.

The whole thing is so good, that even the 'injected romance' doesn't bother the viewer, but actually, as a rare occasion, compliments the rest of the movie. Maybe it's because Fletch is not a total simp and underling of the woman, like the male protagonist in most 'romantic comedies'.

Did I mention the completely awesome 1980s musics created by the genius that didn't do nearly enough of these soundtracks (I wish he had), but whose -every- soundtrack is magical and energetic? Fletch's musics have been covered and parodied in every 8-bit music scene possible. How the heck was he able to make those synths sound so deep and delicious?

Harol Faltermeyer, I salute you and envy your amazing talent in not only instrument making, or creating immersive song structures and exciting melodies, but also for being able to express such deep and esoteric atmosphere that I can't stop admiring it all to the max.

Everything in this movie works so perfectly together, it's hard to imagine anyone topping it. The only nitpick I have is the airplane hangar scene; it's a bit unbelievable and Chevy's look is embarrassing.

Everything else just works.. this is a movie that anyone can watch over and over again, especially those that lived in the 1980s and miss the 'feeling'/'atmosphere'/'vibe' or just the musics.

Good mystery, good acting, good music, good atmosphere, good humor and very very funny jokes and gags all around, and the visuals are so nicely decorated by the lovely, slightly exotic-looking Dana Wheeler-Nicholson.

There's something for everyone, except 'conventional romance' fans. I think this is the funniest way to build a still-believable romance I have ever seen, and I love it.

No matter what you like in a movie, you can't go wrong with Fletch!

P.S. Forgot to mention - the woman singing the main title tune (Bit by Bit) knows how to do a "Pulsewidth Modulation" with her voice! (For the ones that know what this means, it's another treat to appreciate!)
