Sequel, please!

It's a high time for a sequel! I just can't get enough of this movie it's so good. Please, almighty Paul Verhoeven, make a sequel for your humble movie goer. C'mon, mighty producers of Hollywood, cook something up for us--fans of this movie. But if you do it better make it good! I want to see Hauer and Leigh reprise their roles again.
We need to see what's going to happen next.
I'm such a fan of this movie, that I see it at least once a year. I'd love Paul Verhoeven to make a sequel for this movie. They just need a good script. Heck, I'd write it myself for free if I could do it. The ending of the movie just screams for a sequel. Martin barely makes it alive and out of the chimney. Agnes sees him over Steven's shoulder. It's just a perfect foreshadowing of something. Like would she tell Steven that Martin is alive or keep it a secret? What happens next??? There could be so many possibilities for a good story in the next movie. I watch this movie over and over again, and it never gets dull. This movie is very special. And I want a sequel. Please!

Erm... I agree Martin deserves a sequel, but where do we find a Rutger Hauer clone? No other face would do, not for me anyway.

I don't really thing Hauer would be the main problem here. I rather think finding an actress brave enough to do stuff like JJL did, THAT would be a problem.

I mean... besides maybe Heather Graham and Elisabeth Berkley - all those "modern" day actress are so totally stuck up about showing themself, it's really sick. It took forever for Katie Holmes do show something - and she only did it do piss off the WB and get out of her "DC"-contract for good.

There are plenty of actress who would be suddably - but they just don't have the hutzbe to do it.

I know, I know, nobody can ever replace Rutger Hauer, but Rutgy's in dire need of a face-lift... Saw a reasonably similar-looking guy, Richard Lynch, in "Cyborg 3: The Recycler" on local TV a few nights ago. God-awful film, but the guy might cut it as Martin.

Truer words where never spoken. The man is an icon.

He is getting old.

Never heard of him.

Never seen it (so far!).

Throug video back then, this movie became cult. But it was a HUGHE flop at the box office (because of the cuts and all those anti-sex prayer wackos).

So I doubt there be a sequel.

And Verhoeven and Hauer havn't worked together since then. According to the AC on the "F&B" DVD they hardly ever see each other.

First off: I *DON'T* want to start a general sequel disscusison (this is neither filmschool nor "Scream 2"!) *AND* I'm a sucker for sequels, even bad ones! I just love when a story is continued, plot- and characterlines are advanced (which I consider a real sequel, not if you just remake the first movie a little different).

> This film needs no sequel.

It would be nice to see where Martin goes from where he was. His storyline is the only one that is really contiunuable. Maybe that of the general, too, but Agnes and Stevens's storyline has IMO ended. They might be appearing, somewhere in the background or in a small sideplot that really only serves to get something going, but dossn't directly involve them (and I don't mean that Martin goes Paul Kersey/D-Fence on them and disposes of them, just so Hawkwood can hunt him down and kill him. That wouldn't be fair to Agnes & Steven!).

> Let it go. It's an excellent film.

Full Ack. One of the best - if not THE! - and acurate/true middle-ages movie ever made.

> A sequel would smash its proverbial face into a pile of proverbial feces.

Really depends if your just looking for money - like Braga/Berman - or you wana create something beautiufull that will stand the test of time forever, like Stracinsky, Weadon or Lucas.

I actually liked "Robocop 2". Now, "RC-3" - that sucked!

> How did Lucas get in there!?!

Because the two SW-trilogies will be around for a long time. All your questions about good, evil, religion, love and friendship can be answered by watching these six movies carefully.

> In my opinion, he sucks . . . big time!

Thats your opinion.

But it plays throughout and is even very important to the film as a whole. If you mean this crap with his wife: I'm glad they axed that early.

That all depends who would make it and how.

It is very black and white, I'll give you that. But it`s very clear and that`s whats important.

> There is no clear line between good and evil;

IMO you just are not able to see it.

That only means your scared and prefer to run with the crowd in fear for standing up and being left alone.

> I think that when YOU say 'watching these six movies carefully', you mean you

Nope. Only if I have to suffer through crap like "2001".

It sounds like.

What has that to do with anything?

If your only looking for words you didn`t understand the movies.

Another Trekkie. ;->

The last I agree, the first I don`t. Cause things never go in a straight line.

Neither is true. You lack understanding and suspension of disbelief.

Mostly yes. But they give you a very fine starting point and make excellent situations themselfs.

If you ever been in a sitation like Anakin/Luke then you would probally totally agree with me. Its just like Faith on Buffy: Noboddy understands her, except the ppl who've been her. >:-}

LOL. It`s just that IME ppl who HATE SW that much usally tend to turn out hardcore Trekkies. I know, I used to be one myself. '->

> Although I do enjoy The Next Generation

Never really liked TNG that much. The douple and cliffhangerepisodes where okay, but S4 & up when they went Disney I tend not to like as much. I do own all 7 season on DVD, though. *shrug*

> and Voyager.

Don't get me started on that! Braga/Berman really messed that show up when they started grapping for money after the start of S4. It used to be my favorite trek show and then those golddigging bozos go for ratings instead of quality!

They learned NOTHING from Ep. 1 and Bab5/Buffy!

Which they PROVED roaly when they decided to make "Enterprise".

George Lucas is just a greedy b**ch, his movies are just plain entertainment, looking for 'lessons about life' in them is hilarious.
BTW Star Trek is more of the same but with ridiculous outfits and even more boring.

Everything you need to know about life love friendship good and evil religion faith and family you can learn just by watching these six movies. They probally are the greates movies ever made.

oh I most definately agree, but the cast could never come up to scratch now could it? seems a shame to ruin the building blocks of a thumping good yarn with all the wrong faces. Didn't mean to offend, just thought that sometimes a good daydream is better than a bad movie.

We don't need a Rutger Hauer clone for a sequal! He could still play Martin, just an older Martin--20 years later. I'm sure he'd gladly sign up for a sequal.

richard lynch is way too old, probably older than rutger now,
leave this movie alone!
