I can't believe she lived at the end! She caused Martin's friends to die, she had it coming! Of course she had to live and have a happy ending!

I was on tenterhooks at the end because I thought Martin had been killed in the fire. If she had survived and he hadn't then it would have been even worse.

reply

She's not a slut, she's a survivor. She's a strong and independent woman. And some of you guys are scared of women when we are not submissive and obedient.

Are you gonna bark all day, little doggie, or are you gonna bite?

reply

Yeah that's the thing- you can't judge Agnes by today's standards. She was raped, and threatened with gang-rape, and the only way to prevent that from happening was by latching on to the nearest dominant male (Martin). Her body was her survival kit. Of course, it's got to be said that she did have a great body as well...

reply

You said it brilliantly nelignod.

reply

Nothing wrong with being a survivor regardless of sex, as long as it doesn't involve being a total egoist.^^ And no, I don't have anything against strong women, as long as they-as said- at the same time have a heart. Although my personal orientation and taste happen to be much more towards strong, secure, survivor-MEN.;-)

reply

Oh, but she does have a heart, only there's enough space for two guys... Understandably.
I see which of the two would you prefer, gothbreed.

Are you gonna bark all day, little doggie, or are you gonna bite?

reply

You are truly a disturbing person.

Stay away from women you creep.

reply

but the best part was that she fell in love with Martin

Wait'll Steven sees the bouncing little blond-haired offspring 9 months from now. Might get a wee bit suspicious.

Al: Who wouldn't be tense? This music could make Will Rogers punch a nun.

reply

She had sex with ONE guy throughout the entire story, and that was because he raped her initially, and later she realised that he could protect her from being used and discarded.

Slutty? Hardly.

reply

She is kind of. I mean she led Martin on. She made him think she was in love with him and then at the end of the movie she dumped him for her own ends! If she was really in love with him, she would have ditched the rich wimp and stayed with Martin. Using your body to survive is one thing, but playing with someone's emotions just to accomplish your goal is another!

reply

Her own goal was surviving.

Of course she led Martin to think she was in love with him. If she hadn't, he would have tossed her to the rest of the group as soon as he'd finished with her. Do you think they would have made sure that she had food and protection enough to live?

Besides, she obviously did have some feeling for Martin. That was the whole point behind her knocking the poisoned water out of his hand.

reply

Yes, playing with the emotions of a man (who initialy raped you) to survive... hardly makes one a slut.

"Nice girls don't wear Cha Cha heels!"

reply

& leading the rapist Martin on was way more evil than Martin brutally raping her in front of everyone? Do you really sympathise with Martin? If you had a choice, sex with your rapist or rape by every stinking man in his gang, which would you choose?

reply

No the first thing she did was make her maid have a shag so she could watch.

reply

Which was pretty comical, but not slutty. 'Sides, what's wrong with sluts? They're the girls that guys who can't get girls can get. Get it? More guys should celebrate the slut. Long live the slut!

Seriously, though, it's 2009 and we've still got this standard from the dark ages. Guys still get a pat on the back based on their inflated numbers and girls are still supposed to be uber-chaste. Guess what, guys. If all girls tell you no all the time, you're gonna get nothin' at all. Then everyone will KNOW you're lying about how many girls you've been with. HA!

reply

"Slut" is such an outdated term, but then since this is a movie set in the middle ages, have at it I guess. She clearly loved her fiancee (though I have no idea why) and seemed to love Martin as well. I think that, had circumstances been different, she would have been attracted to Martin but that nothing would have come of it. But given the situation she was in, facing the very near possibility of gang rape...I hardly think her manipulating his emotions was in any way "slutty." She clearly had feelings for him regardless, but he did rape her and I think she was probably also developing a bit of Stockholm syndrome. But then I guess that the next time any of you are faced with brutal gang rape you'll make sure not to toy with the rapists' emotions, am I right? You're so noble.

Agnes is a survivor. She was kidnapped and brutally raped and threatened with gang rape. I'm glad she didn't run off into the sunset with that pig Martin and stuck with the decent guy. Besides, some of her feelings actually were genuine since she prevented him from contracting plague and said nothing when she saw him escape. But, I don't really care for this movie altogether. I just think it's kind of dumb.

reply

Yes Agnes is slut but what else could she do?
