The author was George Gipe. The ISBN WAS 0 450 05896 4. And was published by Simon and Schusters pocket books. It is probably long out of print. I had to use ebay to find my copy and ended up getting it from Australia. I don't know if it helps, but it was also printed in England by Richard Clay (the Chaucer press) ltd. In Bugay Suffolk by NEL books (New English Library).
