Blu-ray release?

Seems an ideal candidate, it even had a 70mm release back in 85. Any news on a blu-ray, especially since the DVD is from a decade ago to the month.

I would love to see this released on blue-ray. The sound on the regular dvd is somewhat passable (if you have never seen the film, buy the regular dvd, it is still worth it), but the audio could have been so much better. The Emerald Forest is a truly spectacular film that deserves to be released properly, with good extras. I would say the same for the brilliant films Quest For Fire and Farewell To The King. They all deserve quality blu-ray releases with all the extra trimmings.

I would love to see this in bluray too, perfect candidate indeed! They should show this relentless on cable like HBO to get more attention. Maybe then people would be more familiar with this underrated gem!

Good news guys, it was just announced for Dec 2. No word on special features, but just seeing the film in hi-def should be great!
