had NO idea it was the same guy who went around the world with Ewan McGregor on motorcycle... and Charley Boorman's Extreme Frontiers...love this movie when i was young =)

Same here-I was totally gobsmacked!
He looks so beautiful and ethereal in this and is now...well...not! He just looks so different- a bit like how Dave Grohl went from being the skinny, geeky-looking drummer in Nirvana to a big and beardy frontman!

Just occasionally, nepotism bears fruit -- Boorman jr.'s performance here is outstanding. I knew him from The Emerald Forest long before he started his road trips with Ewan McGregor. He also has (much smaller) roles in some of his father's other films - Excalibur and Hope & Glory and (as an infant) Deliverance.
