Truffaut connection

Is it a coincidence that Godard cast two actors, Jean Pierre Leaud and Nathalie Baye, closely associated with Francois Truffaut in this movie, which was made shortly after Truffaut's death. I appreciate that JLG had previously cast Leaud in a few movies before this.
