Why No Other Film About Alice/Carroll Love Story

Other than the pedo-hysteria of the modern age, I can't believe no one has tried to make a film dealing with the Dodgson/Alice relationship (not inc. DREAMCHILD)... While MANY films have dealt with the subject of adult/child relationships (love affairs..not molestation) It seems rather odd that the supreme historical example of a man in love with an under-aged girl, has never been made.

I did hear back in the 90's that someone was working on a film or documentary about the Carroll/Alice relationship...but nothing has seemed to have come of it.
some brief thoughts about Dreamchild...

Coral Brown -superb.

Amelia Shankley -the best child actress of her time.

Ian Holm -great acting, but makes it more of a perverted scenario as Charles Dodgson had just recently turned 30 at the time he told the story, and had befriended Alice in his mid-twenties...not exactly a dirty old man. Holm looks at least 45-50 in the film, a man getting on in years...a bit too creepy

Considering all the wonderful films about eccentric figures, the math genius at Cambridge, the guy that invented the intermittent wiper blades, the TUCKER guy..and on and on, but no one wants to make a film about the most enigmatic person in the last 150 years!!

I'd love to see a proper biopic of Rev. Dodgson. Michael Sheen, perhaps? I remembering seeing him in the film "Wilde," and maybe it was the hairstyle and clothes but I thought he kind of looked like LC. Also he seems to have a knack for playing historical figures. Anyway just a thought.
