DVD-R now available

Dreamchild is now available at Amazon.com on a MGM produced DVD-R. It has chapter stops but no subtitles or menu and has been transfered from a widescreen print which is in quite fine condition with only the ocassional speck or fine line through the print. Good colour and contrast make this a veiwing pleasure and a must have for anyone who loves the wonder and originality of this extraordinary film.

BUMP!!!

After years of waiting for a commercial DVD I discovered the on-demand one and ordered it toot sweet. I was rather ticked off Amazon didn't inform me of its availability since it is one of several older movies for which I'm still waiting for a DVD release (and signed up for with Amazon).

Although there are no subs and no extras it's completely worth the price to have a decent digital copy. My upscaling DVD player renders it as 1080i and it is, as you note, almost perfect.

I hope Criterion or some other production line puts Dreamchild out again before I die because it deserves recognition but, if not, at least I have my copy.

please don't make me use ignore...

you'd think that with Tim Burton's Alice film, MGM would have capitalized on that, and released a proper DVD of "Dreamchild". *sighs in frustration*
well, at least now i don't have to hunt down a used VHS copy, now that the
DVD-R has been released. :^)

I got mine. From JBHifi of all places. Must be classed as a classic.
