Liked the movie? Read the book!

If you liked the movie, you'll LOVE the book!

Deceptions (by Judith Michael) is an incredible book and it varies enough from the movie that you'll be surprised. They took the movie in a completely different direction.

About 10-15 years later, the writers (Judith Michael is a husband/wife writing team, who by the way, inserted themselves as characters in the book, as friends of Sabrina) released A Tangled Web, which continues the story of the ill-fated twins.

I bought the book many years ago after loving the mini series but, I have to admit that I haven't read it yet. It's been sitting on the shelf for ages. :(

Thanks for the reminder!

Just finished reading the book. I really enjoyed it and have ordered the sequel A Tangled Web. I loved Sabina's character even more in the book. She was so cool. Although she carried on with the deception for far too bloody long lol!
Cant wait to find out what happens next!

You're going to love A Tangled Web! It's another great book and they did a really good job of continuing the story.

Obviously I loved these books, as evidenced by my screen name!

Yes i like your screen name! I just started reading A Tangled Web a few days ago and i am really enjoying it.
Just wondering, what did you think of Stephanie in the first book? I know the character is a good person at heart but i just thought she had moments of meanness. When she turned on Sabrina for being more confident than her. The way she didnt seem to really appreciate it when Sabrina was going out of her way not to outshine her. Stephanies attitude was like "well now she can know how it feels to be in the shadows". And the way she didnt seem to be all that bothered about being apart from her children. It was like she could jump between being sweet and being cold very quickly. So far i am liking her more in the second book.
As with the first book im loving Sabrina the most. So confident, cool and classy. I think everyone needs a friend like her!

I don't find the book all that good except maybe the original idea. It takes far too long before anything interesting happens. Years and years of long stretches while Sabrina marries her first husband and struggles to start her career, while Stephanie meets Grant. And then there was the sub-plot of Cyprus occupation, which I skipped through so cannot tell what was it about really.

The women were portrayed more bitchy and self-absorbed in the mini series, which made it much more entertaining. In the book there is too much reasoning and defending of their behavior so the reader would like both of them.
