In an adult HIgh School acting class around 1985 I guess, I was out of work and had plenty of time to rehearse my 5 minute monologue. It was when Willy was telling his wife how he would tell the boss to allow him to work in N.Y., optimistic that it would happen in spite of his knowing it wouldn't
I remember doing the part in front of the class, and then I finished. There was that moment when the audience was still captured by the emotion I had expressed, and then, after a second of being transported back to the classroom, they broke into applause.
I felt the pleasure of holding the thirty people in the palm of my hands, as I brought them into Willy's kitchen and his life. It's now some 35 years ago, but I remember it still with satisfaction.
