What was the gang's plan, exactly?

At the end they launch a full scale attack on the neighborhood, killing citizens and even cops en masse.

.....What are they planning to do afterward? If it gets bad enough, they'll just call in the national guard and all these idiots will get mowed down.

I also like how Fraker, who has been said to be very careful and has a relatively clean arrest record, is just standing in the street shooting up police officers. I don't think he's gonna be walking out of prison any time soon after this.

He would still have a clean arrest record after he kills all the witnesses. Those cops were clowns that looked like to be working their first day on the job.

They already had Sutter and Belmont locked down, as that one guy who was out of his area learned. Fraker's gang might have had a bad rep, but according to Captain Shriker, Fraker was a perfect citizen. In fact, Fraker was actually the quiet and benevolent patriarch of the neighborhood, right up to the point when Paul shows up and baits them with a late model Chevy and a Nikon.

What down-on-his-luck youth could resist the prospect of trading in a stock AC Delco AM/FM radio (even if stolen) for righteous bucks?!

(In the context of a 1985 movie, nearly everything about this is hilarious, but in 2016, who am I kidding? I'd love to have a bottom of the barrel '70s Cadillac.)

My only fear is that with that particular model of car, if you happen to get punched in the face by street toughs, who then subsequently put the car in Neutral and roll you into traffic, that car explodes with a low-speed collision. But it's a great car to go pick up the Wildey that you ordered.

This car was Magic! Who else but Paul Kersey could pick up a hot chick ½ his age while strolling around in such a senior citizen mobile.

The gang would take control of the town. They were really tough, plus Fraker had a lot of backup. He was able to call up another gang and they would send him reinforcements just like that. If it wasn't for Kersey, Frakers gang would have killed the police and national guard
