I know I'm going to get CRUCIFIED for this ...

Dawn of the Dead is better than this.
Now- please - before you open fire:
I saw Dawn of the Dead when it was released in 1979. It BLEW MY MIND. It made me LOVE horror EVEN MORE THAN I ALREADY DID!
Fast forward; 1985. After Creepshow... me and my posse were waiting for this to be released and saw this the week it opened.
Now first- I LOVE the concept (the underground complex- the tunnels- etc) , the effects , most of the acting (Lori Cardille was excellent AND believable ) .
. I HATE the idea to training zombies. Once you train a zombie-- well--so what? So it's like a house pet? Is that scary in any way? No it is not. So I do not know where this was going........
The other part of the movie that there was too much "drama" and too many shouting matches between the characters. It went on and on and on......They all make their points, then there is another scene- and more arguing ...AGAIN.
Lastly- the TONE of the movie was too bright and sunny in a lot of scenes and it was not just that -- it just was not as horrific as "Dawn"..... "Day" feels too.... relaxed. And as stated before- the Bub thing is TOO distracting.
"Dawn" feels more dire--more at risk.....more edgey .... and a lot scarier.
OK. KILL ME NOW.

It's fine, relax, you can like whatever you want!

Crucified? What makes you think that? As far as I've read, Dawn has always been the more favorably received and reviewed.

You are sin.

reply

I think dawn of the dead is a much much better film, one of my all time favourites

reply

I don't know where you're coming from. I thought it was pretty much acknowledged by most people that Dawn is better. It's got a much higher imdb rating too......but I do actually prefer Day....if only for nostalgia, I saw it in the cinema when in was in my teens.

reply

Burn him at the stake!!!! :D

Nah, I prefer Day, to me it's a dark masterpiece, I don't think it's sunny at all. Dawn had that easy-going vibe, or atmosphere, imo.
However you can like whatever you want!

reply

You're being a bit dramatic, OP. Jesus. I like Day of The Dead more, however, it's common knowledge that Dawn of The Dead is held in higher esteem, if you will. Most people like Dawn more than Day.

I'm gonna throw a curve ball and say I preferred Night to both Dawn and Day. They never did anything for me. Night however, is still fantastic now and best in black and white

reply

I'm with you, I think Dawn of the Dead is much better and more enjoyable, and more fun!

Totally with you on the training the zombies thing. no point.
Crazy doctor even "justfies" it by saying their arnt enough bullets to shoot them all - um, therefore hours of surgery is the way to go.

reply

You’re an IDIOT. The training of the zombies totally had its point. Logan was out of ideas and out of time and he went fucking nuts. It was his last ditch effort to buy more time with the military and Rhodes because he knew they were losing their patience. Some DOLTS like yourself shouldn’t watch movies and make DUMB statements about them. You watched this movie and didn’t understand this nuance and cat and mouse game between the scientists and the military. Stick to Michael Bay movies and you’ll be much happier and won’t expose your pathetic IQ.

reply

Hey your the IDIOT !!!! .... the guy is just giving his thoughts on this film so go fuk yourself you piece of shit !!!!

reply

You don’t don’t belong on message boards, maybe Sesame Street is more your speed. What a DOLT!

reply

The fact you see nothing wrong with using the word DOLT you should immediately end yourself

reply

Maybe your whole family should be ended for spitting you out in the world

reply

And with that response you have utterly bored me !

reply

Wow dont hold back Corky. Say what you think of the OP eh?
So what was totally the point of the training again? Could you elaborate? buy time?? what?

reply

As much as Corky really EARNS the Corky name, I can take a stab at this.

Training them would be to pacify them and make them less.....bitey.

reply

Wow....you're 20 lbs of idiot in a 5 lb bag, aren't you?

reply

And your mother is a crack whore

reply

Way to prove me right, buffoon.
