4.3/10?!

This was one of the cheesiest and worst rip-off movies I've seen. I'm surprised some people liked it, but it was just terrible, ugly looking, boring, very dark, bad effects and makeup. Watch Forbidden World (1982) instead, this is how low budget horror/scifi film that Creature should have been made. This movie gives a 1/10.

Actually, it should be much higher than 4.3/10.

Hmmm... Pretty sure I remember this one as near the bottom of the barrel - dull as Inseminoid and less imaginative. But, whenever prompted by the recommendations of unknown strangers, I am willing to give such a film another look - tomorrow, for sure.

Well, I may have done the film an injustice... Not having seen it in over 30 years. But, now I would say it is not as bad as I thought but still not as entertaining as Forbidden World.

I'm not real comfortable with the numeric scoring system as I would have to have two scores; one for personal enjoyment an another for, more or less, objective quality. However, I don't think either score could exceed 4.3 by much in my book.

Acting is mostly poor - Klaus Kinski is fine as creepy German guy. Writing is not good and fraught with cutesie references to '50s SF like The Thing and Forbidden Planet. Some of the editing is simply awkward and the film as a whole is too slackly paced. The monster is not too bad and, as it was presented, even a really great monster would have been wasted. FX are anywhere from OK to rather good and the props and sets are not bad (Noticed a couple of Forbidden Planet references there too).
