Help!!!!

I just saw this movie on TV--I thought it was going to be ridiculous but ended up being quite charming. However--I MISSED THE ENDING!!! I saw up to the part where Harry takes over Barbara's care at the hospital and Boris is pleading with everyone not to shut off the machines. Can someone please fill me in on what happens after that?

You're a real intellect giant aren't you Mike!!

The essence of the ending is that faith and persistent love are the "Big Picture" and Virginia Madsen comes out of her coma. The ending also includes Peter O'Toole realizing that he needs to live in the present and accept love as it comes to him and not try to re-animate the past, which is not possible, of course, and as he pours out into the ocean the vial of recombinant DNA that he was using to clone his dead wife, he says "Back to the sea..." while embracing Ms. Hemmingway....

My sentiments exactly!

That would be "Intellectual giant", genius. Also, as your sentence is posed in the form of a query, it should end with a question mark.

P.S. Not to mention the missing comma. ;)

But in the book she died. I thought the movie was a complete travesty which betrayed everything that was original in the (admittedly unfilmable) source novel. Strange since it was scripted by Jeremy Leven himself.

Wow, how can that be fun..especially with this. Go get it and watch the ending. It's better than having someone try to explain it.

I also remember that there was going to be a sum of money given to the uni that Stiers very much wanted to get his hands on. The money was for O'Tooles research and once Stiers gor the money then he could ask O'Toole to leave.
Hoever once the money was given it turned out that the sponsorship was to O'Toole not the Uni.. So O'Toole left the uni - bicycling away with the others in toe, with Stiers following them to join them at the new unit that O'Toole was going to.

I would add to this that O'Toole was being forced into semi-retirement at a remote facility, away from the main facilities at the university. The administration did this before they knew that the money went to him, not the university like Marcwolf-2 stated.
