Scariest aliens ever.

Holy crap, those aliens were horrifying! I'm glad I didn't watch this movie when I was a little kid. The scene were she takes her skin off and then starts walking towards the camera would have given me nightmares for months.

Yep, when I watched this movie as a kid and saw the first appearance of the light alien getting closer to the camera I almost freaked out.

The shriveled up alien actually made me laugh becuse it looked so much like ET and was obviously animatronic. But the first time I saw the chick peeling off her skin, I got goosebumps. That thing was way scarier than many aliens from way newer movies that were supposed to be terryfying. However, all the appearances of the naked aliens afterwards were just funny, and not because the scenes were comical, but because they'd be flying around all the time and it was poorly handled.

I'm here, Mr. Man, I can not tell no lie and I'll be right here 'till the day I die

me too!

Are your only references Disney movies or something? Go watch some sci-fi horror please, these aliens were childish, E.T. level.

reply

Well she floated, she didn't walk. I actually thought they were very endearing because you could just tell they were friendly, they had gentle expressions. Even the shrivelled one looked so vulnerable, I cried over him!

Have a lovely day, even if we don't always agree

When I saw this as a kid, I was horrified by the sight of these aliens. In fact, after seeing it, I checked behind the shower curtain in my bathroom EVERY time I went in there. I always expected to see one of those things hiding there, waiting to attack me.

I saw it again recently, and seeing them still creeped me out (especially the scene where she is undressing).

reply

Really? I find them so gentle and cute! Sorry to hear you were creeped out though, must have been quite distressing. I saw many films as a kid that creeped me out too lol!

These days you have to boil someone before you can sleep with them.

reply

I agree, the undressing scene was pretty scary. Although this movie was not a horror movie, the said scene was way scarier than what you can see in many straightforward horror movies. I think the alien was scary because she was quite humanoid (similar to humans) - human looking aliens are always scarier than some lizard-type monsters.

reply

As she was only wearing human skin, and wasn't actually human, surely there was no need for her to wear any panties/knickers. (I suppose that's why they looked so clean when she pulled them down).

reply

The scariest ever?

I guess you never saw the lizards in the TV miniseries "V".

reply

Obviously you've never seen the "Alien" series -- nor "Independence Day".

Later:
Actually, the aliens pictured here remind me of an alien race described in a novel I read 50 or 55 years ago. "Way Station" by Clifford Simak.

reply

I know what you mean, but they were too plainly benevolent to regard them as scary. I found them more awe-inspiring.
