Loved the board game but…

The movie is a mess. I love the setup and mystery element but after about 30 minutes the awful attempts at humor and convicted mess of a storyline(if you can call it that) just kill it for me . By the end I’m just wanting it to get over. I remember the first time I rented it - I was 13 and so hyped to see it but after the first viewing I was oh so disappoint lol

Anyone feel the same? I did not know John Landis directed this..? Btw I am not sure if they could make a good movie based on the board game
