Picking apart Clue.

I love this movie! So I've seen it a bunch of times.

Some really nitpicky details I've noticed:

It was supposedly the evening of June 9, 1954 when this took place. That came from the Trivia page at IMDB that said the McCarthy senate hearings that were airing in the kitchen with the quote: "...professors and teachers, who are getting their orders from Moscow..." were televised live on that day. Mrs. Ho tells Wadsworth that dinner will be ready at 7:30 yet everyone is arriving when it's dark out. In New England on June 9th, the sun would be setting close to 8:30 and it would still be daylight before 7:30! Dinner was served about 7 minutes later, in movie time anyway. So picky!

Another thing is that they all drove from Washington D.C.? According to the Trivia, Route 41 is in CT and MA, so that would be a 6 or 7 hour drive. I suppose they could have all rented cars at the airport and booked hotels somewhere. I know, so picky!

I was going to ask why the cop didn't use his two way radio to call in the abandoned car, but then I read somewhere that he may have been involved with someone in the house and the blackmail operation to some end. He did tell the other person on the line that he was off duty and Ms. Scarlet knew him, so he must not have been a local cop.

Anyone else care to share some more? I love this movie!!!

I have to watch this again and pay more attention.

It's fun to do that, you should!

Also, at dinner Mr. Greene notes that they all live in D.C. and/or work for the government. But Mrs. White's city is not mentioned up to that point. She does eventually say that her husband had been a nuclear scientist, so he probably had worked for the government but Mr. Greene wouldn't have known that when he made that comment, unless he already knew who she was.

At dinner they don't get an entree. They're offered fruit or dessert after the weird white appetizer that Mrs. Peackock loves. It looks like pickled herring.

Isn't it monkey brains?

With sour cream and onions???

Could be, Mrs Peacock says "Is that what we ate?" When Wadsworth is explaining it all in two of the endings and the humorous element would be her enjoying it so much whilst at dinner earlier.

It's been a number of years since I've seen Clue but that part stands out particularly because, between Clue and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom suggesting that it is, I'd never heard of monkey brains as a culinary dish.

Ok, haha! I will watch it once again.

When Col. Mustard enters, Wadsworth takes his coat. In the next frame his hat is gone and Wadsworth isn't seen putting it in the closet with the coat.

Mr. Boddy pulls six big boxes out of one little brief case. haha.

Miss Scarlet and Prof. Plum leave her broken down car on the road with the lights on and the hood open.

It was Mr. Green who asked is that what we ate. Also just before he is killed the cop tells the person on the phone that he isn't on duty. So that's why he didn't call it in.

Riiight...
