Sinfully sweet moral: have we misjudged the film?

Most people might argue that there is no moral to Clue, or that it is just a gag-filled, one-liner comedy that doesn't ask us to think much. They may be right, but I've been seeing some parallels in the characters and the seven deadly sins that might make this even more intelligent and meaningful. The story follows seven crazy characters and their efforts to solve a murder. They all seem to personify these sins: Miss Scarlet is prideful, Colonel Mustard is greedy, Proffessor Plum is lustful, Mrs. White is maliciously envious, Mrs. Peacock is gluttonous, Wadsworth is angry, and Mr. Green is lazy or detached.

Let's watch it with this in mind and see if this movie can provide some clues about human nature and be more meaningful. Comment if you agree with my classification or if you see other parallels!

You are trying to hard to fit the seven characters into your pre-defined categories of the Seven Deadly Sins. Green wasn't lazy (slothful). How can you say that at all? In none of the endings did he do anything lazy. Further, he never killed anyone except the blackmailer that was holding everyone hostage.

And, how do you see Mrs. Peacock as Gluttonous? She's thin as a rail and was only seen eating once. And it's even a long shot to call Scarlet prideful or Wadsworth angry. Scarlet was greedy and called a capitalist in the movie. And Wadsworth was out for justice, one of the Seven Virtues.
