When they cut Kristine Deluca from the final group I had to laugh. Nicole Fosse is the daughter of Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon.Oh, well..that's show biz.
shareI have no idea how good the actress was at dancing in real life, but the dancing portrayed in this film (deliberate of course) was not at all good. Others got cut who danced circles around the Kristine character.
sharePlus her character had no personality. She was a wimp who was only being pushed to audition by her husband.

Lea Thompson revealed in an interview with Nerdist Podcast that she was offered the role of Kristine DeLuca but turned it down to appear in Back to the Future (1985).
That was a very good call on her part (and I say that as one of those few people who actually rather likes the film version of A Chorus Line - although it's no Back to the Future, is it?)
Anyway, am I right in recalling that Lea Thompson was a trained dancer, or at least had some background in dance?
Madonna auditioned too , by her full birth name and was dismissed early.
As for Lea being a trained dancer. She had to be of course. Just to audition much less getboffered a role. Then again Audrey Landers could not dance and got the role (had a body double in some dance scenes)
Why was Audrey Landers hired? I mean she was hot, but clearly her casting offended a lot of the show's fans.
