A Plea To the PTB's

In this day and age why can't the powers that be have a digitally remastered version of this creepy classic either released on DVD or VHS?

The substandard DVD I had (and returned) followed by an even worse VHS copy (from a usually excellent source) mean that whatever master copy they are taking it from is so poor it is barely watchable. In some parts the bass line is too high and therefore everything sounds like the actors are talking with their handds over their mouths, other parts have terrible dropout and is untarcakable on the VHS, and all this is transferred as is to the DVD. It's such an excellent little film in the middle of some dire 'horror' dross out there, it's a real shame that no-one has taken the bull by the horns and remastered it; because unless this happens, I am going to have to wait for it to be shown on TV, but as that hasn't happened since 1985, it's gonna be a long long wait.

Michael Beck is an excellent actor and this is one of his finest films; please do the decent thing PTB's and remaster the film for the fans.

I agree, the audio on my version sucks as well. I don't mind the way it lloks since it reminds me of my youth and watching tv in the 80's. For me, these sort of grainy, poor lighted films brings a sense of creepiness that movies don't have today, but I guess its because what I grew up with. But yeah I wouldn't mind a remastered version. Great movie! It goes to show that you don't need a lot of cgi and excess gore to make a good creepy movie. Not that I have anything against cgi or excess gore but u know what I mean.
