Music from the movie Cavegirl (1985)

Does nyone know who did the music for Cavegirl?
I especially would like the title and/or artist for the end credits music.

reply

That was Stacy Q! She has the opening credits theme on her Greatest Hits CD (the song is called "Syntheside"). As for the end credits, best way to get it is to burn it off the dvd menu from your computer. The whole soundtrack was pretty much Stacy and let me tell you - I LOVED IT!!! She rocks!

reply

No, she doesn't. If she had any actual talent, she would have got to do the soundtrack to a PROPER film, not this pile of manure cunningly disguised as a motion picture.

To any fans of 'Cavegirl' out there I ask you: have you ever watched a proper film? Are your mothers proud of you? Perhaps you should take an IQ test? I have a feeling you might not be very happy with your life..

reply

Life must have been rough to you anxietyresister. LOL

Gerry is the best to focus on that I could ever hope for.

Yes, I have to admit it was. I was orphaned at two, sweeping chimneys at five, forced into prostitution at..

Hey wait a minute!! my past has NOTHING TO DO with you, nosey parker!! I'm here to comment on what a load of rubbish this movie was, not appear on 'This Is Your Life'. If you want to get to know me you could at least buy me a drink first! For a doctor, your conduct is appalling, sir. I shall see you struck off.. BLAH BLAH BLAH..

reply

Hmmm...I was orphaned at age two also. I guess I took it better than you. I don't buy drinks for people and I am not your family doctor but, I do apologize for causing you to lose your mind and start speaking in tongues.

Say what? Are you intentionally setting out to be the most boring poster ever, or does it come naturally? You actually thought I was telling the truth? Or are you trying to be funny about it? Either way, you fail the IQ test miserably. Mind you I shouldn't expect anything less from fans of this so-called 'film'..

reply

You must be some sort of fan or you wouldn't keep coming back here. Was I trying to be funny or honest? You tell me since you say you give out testings. Admit it. You love something about this.

Hater! Anyway, yes I love that end credits song. Now I know who the artist is after thinking it was Blondie for awhile.

Stacey Q is indeed the vocalist, but most of the music was from her band SSQ before Stacey went solo. The music can be found on the SSQ album "Playback" from 1983. I don't think that it's ever been released on CD.

song list:
1) Synthecide
2) Jet Town
3) Big Electronic Beat
4) Clockwork
5) Screaming in My Pillow
6) Anonymous
7) Walkman On
8) N'Importe Quoi

EMI America Records #ST-17114

The band also had a non-LP song "Fire" (a remake of the Jimi Hendrix tune!) that was released as a b-side on a single.

As a big fan of 80's synthpop, I consider this a lost classic...and they remind me a lot of the band Berlin.

Hope this helps :)

Wow! You're the best.
Any ideas where I can buy a digital copy of this music?
I'm having no luck!

reply

No idea if this have ever been released on cd or if mp3s are for sale...

By the way, the song that you asked about (over the credits) is called "Anonymous" and is on the Playback album.

reply

By the way, you probably already know this, but Stacey Swain (aka Stacey Q) play's one of Rex's classmates. Just watch for the black boots and red socks...that's her. :)

I found the music video for syntheside....here's the link to YOU TUBE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lED7L7tUMsU&feature=related

"Anonymous" is also in the film "Beyond The Black Rainbow" and like in Cavegirl, during the end credits I hear.
Honestly, the movie looks kinda hollow, but I'll probably check it out anyway.
To me, this song will forever belong to Rex and Eba, wandering off into the horizon..
