Coincidence or eerie? A true story. Anyone else??

This actually happened in the late eighties when I first watched 'Cat's Eye' on video at a friend's upstairs rented apartment.

Didn't think the video was particularly scary- in fact was quite disappointed, as I am with most Stephen King stories that have been rehashed into film.

Anyway, at the very end of the movie (the closing credits) we heard a scratching sound at the front door of the apartment. Upon opening to investigate, two stray cats stood there looking at us! It was pretty freaky, and probably the only thing that troubled us all night!

Probably coincidence, but you never know. So, I ask, anybody else have strange happenings occur after watching a horror flick??

reply

that's sooooooooo freaky...

now i'm a little hesitant to watch this. It was probably a coincidence.... hopefully.

I have a story though... my friends and I just finished watching the ring and the phone rang!!! thank god it was my friend's sister though! I thought we were gonna die!!!!!!!

ha ha when I finished watching the ring the phone rang too....I looked at it and said out loud "oh hell no, i'm not answering that"

Holy Crap!

Many years ago I was watching the movie on tv, when my brother and I heard a ~meow outside the window. When I pulled open the shade there was a cat looking at us right in front of the window by our porch.

reply

It's me again. I just watched the movie for the first time 'cause i was curious about the cat sightings. No cats turned up at my house! It's pretty weird about a lot of people seeing cats though.

reply

Yeah seriously, I watched this movie with a friend and just as soon as it got done I went outside to my car and A CAT WAS RIGHT THERE ON TOP OF MY CAR.

Of course, it was just my normal cat...but soooo freaky, man.

reply

Hypothetically.... hypothetically the cats might've just been attracted to the sounds of the cat in the movie. Cats have really sensitive ears an' all. They could've just heard the sounds of the movie and been interested while passing by.

I blame little demons in my TV.

After I first watched Aratnophobia(sorry if this is spelled wrong) I had a nightmare that night about a gigantic spider after me. When I woke up it was pitch black in my room. I took a deep breath relieved that it was just a dream. Right at the moment my cat jumps on me. I screamed.

How about this one? A friend and I saw "Final Destination" when it was first released to theaters. There is a running theme of fate and death throughout the film, marked occasionally with snippets of John Denver's songs (he was killed in a plane crash, and the stars of the film managed to "escape" death by not boarding a plane that later crashed). As we were leaving the theater's parking lot afterwards, we saw a license plate that read JNDNVR. How weird is that? We drove home very slowly and cautiously that night! We still joke about the whole eerie incident to this day.

reply

I was four when this movie came out I did not see it until I was eight. After I watched it a day later this stray cat kept coming into our yard even though we did not have food laying out, or a garbage can outside. Finally my mom gave it some food, and it left but the whole thing just seemed weird.

reply

lol ok im not just making this up because of all the stories... one weekend my parents went away to atlantic city and i was home alone and i rented a few movies and one of them was the mothman prophecies and i watched it and it wasnt a creepy movie or anything but right afterwards i went up to go to the bathroom and as soon as i lifted the toilet seat a little moth flew out of the toilet i was like WTF??? it was really odd but didnt freak me out or anything...

reply

No it did not happen anything like that. But a couple of days I had a staring contest with a black cat. It weren´t spooky but anyway.

I was completely terrorized by the nasty little troll in the movie when I was child, and I'm about to turn 22 and last night I had the chance to watch it again on TV, and it still freaked me out. This is a true story too.

Last year, my brother slept a lot in my bedroom. I would sleep at my mom's couch (it's soooo soft!) and my brother would move to my room. He normally prefers other beds than his (claiming that his is too old).

Turns out, one cold December night, it was about 3 AM, all of a sudden my brother threw my mom's door open, shouting like a madman that there were elves in my room. I tell you, he flew OFF THE HANDLE. He kept over and over telling me that he would NEVER sleep in my room, ever again, because, the exact words were THERE'S SOMETHING F--*beep* UP IN YOUR ROOM, THERE'S SOME EVIL SH*T IN THERE! What he told me next day, was that he was half-asleep and woke up when he heard eerie little whispers under my bed... notice that my brother's 25 and always laughs at ghost stories... so he didn't pay much attention and tried to sleep again. As soon as he shut his eyes, he heard again those little whispers. He opened them again, and everything was still. He shut them again, and the little voices started talking between themselves and then he heard... giggles. Tiny, nasty little giggles. Now he opened his eyes, and they didn't stop. They get LOUDER. The voices get more and more fluent (he says it was a weird, gutural language) and when he hears them clearly he grabbed his pillow and tore out of the room like crazy. He obviously shut the door and when I tried to calm him down, he dared me to go in there and stay for 15 minutes... and so I... OF COURSE I DIDN'T GO IN THERE! I'm not THAT stupid. Want to know what I found the next day? My closet was OPEN and my dolls were all spread out on the floor. My closet doors are so old that you have to really PULL them open, and my dolls are in the top shelf, way, way behind (you have to stretch your arm inside to grab them). Obviously, no one in the house puts their hand in that place, much less before my brother went to bed. I grabbed my Holy Water from the Vatican (the most precious thing in the household) and spread some drops under my bed, where my brother says the voices came. My closet was destroyed some months later, and my room is "sleepable" again. Isn't it a good scary true story?

The memory from Cat's Eye freaks me even more because I can just imagine it... 2 or 3 little creatures just playing under my bed in my room... giggling nastily and playing with my dolls and old toys... in any case, I NEVER sleep alone in a completely dark room.

Definitely coincidence. If she'd barked at you instead, that would have been eerie.

I watched this on the weekend while minding a friends house and she has a couple of cats, one older one and two 9 week old kittens.

While I was watching it one of the kittens who was happily licking my hand, etc suddenly charged up at my neck, i though it was going to attack me !!

I was watching the second movie in the Harry Potter series.
This one contains a lot of spiders. I am terrified of spiders.
When the spiders were on during the movie, a real spider came from out of no where.
I know that spiders don't fly.
This one flew past my head and landed on the T.V. I was pretty freaked out, but I managed to knock it off of the T.V. I guess that it is dead????????????

i've got the best one...
ok, my friend, who is 20 now, lived in this one beutiful house when she was 4.
so when she began to sleep alone nothing seemed to be a problem. but in the middle of the night she had a dream that her doll was choking her. she woke up gasping for breath and looked over to see her doll.

the doll slept in the oven that night.lol. but still she felt scared and slept in her moms bed. when her mom fell asleep she saw the strangest thing ever! ya kno the little guy who lives in the wall on cats eye? a thing much like it
(it had dark brown skin) crept over her bed and started breathing over her
she felt the choking sensation again... so she tossed him over. he then got on top of her mom and pulled out a little knife (very crooked, like a lightning bolt) and stabbed her mom in the arm! (she still has the scar, ive seen it)and when the mom woke up she saw blood pouring down her arm! My friend then saw the little guy scurry down behind their dresser.
when they looked, there was a little hole, and they painted the house before, never seeing a hole!

they moved out the next day, and when the spoke about it to the landlord, she told them they weren't the first to complain of this!

That's too creepy... one time... I watched Vampires: Los Muertos... and JON BON JOVI showed up at my house after it was over! He didn't have a place to stay that night, because his career flopped 45 years ago. I was horrified. I slept completely under the covers that night.

@ vampsithlord227

why hasn't your friend killed that tiny little guy? i think i would kill every little thing what is in my room... in need maybe also with my 2000 euro gibson les paul :) i would smash this troll like... i dunno, i think i would bind him in a chair, and would torture him slowly^^..i would ask him, if he has seen "Hellraiser" or maybe... Kill Bill 2 lol

Now my Story:

i was at my girlfriend's home. and there was a really creepy thing: everybody went to sleep, it was to warm and so i couldn't sleep... later i lifted up and went outside to smoke. suddenly there was something like a ... i'm shure you all know those little people...dwarves or something, sttod in the shadows and looked at me. i watched him, suddenly he screamed like an idiot and ran away... o my god THIS was sooo creepy... well now i never go outside to smoke anymore^^

I had a friend in the Marines who told me a story (probably BS, but if you're skeptical, then how can you enjoy a good horror story?) about when he was little. His mom went to Mexico and bought some doll over there (maybe one of those Day Of The Dead dolls, or whatever the day is called) for him. Of course, the doll was completely creepy looking and scared my friend. Everynight, he'd wake up and see the doll in a different position within his room than where he had left it. He told his mom about, but of course she assumed it was just his imagination. Then one night he woke up and the doll was sitting right on top of his sheets. He screamed his head off and his mom came in, and when he told her what happened, she took the doll straight outside, started a small fire, and tossed the doll in there, then watched until it was completely gone.
May not have really happened, but just believable enough that it could, and it's much creepier if you do believe it.

What's so bad about cats? They're friendly and adorable. :) And they tell you when spirits are nearby.

Ok nothing supernatural to this, but it sure scared the devil outta me when it happened.

I was about 16 and my family had just moved to some heavy forest land in Washington state (no, there's no bigfoot in this one.) One night, my folks had gone into town about half an hour away, my younger brother was staying at a friends house and my older brother was out with his girlfriend and I was home all by my lonesome. About 10 or 11, I thought I'd better put our dogs out for a last call before going off to bed.

I had just opened the sliding glass door to let them out when I saw this freaking huge wolf sitting right across the dirt driveway just staring at me as bold as you please. I shut the door before the dogs could get out, then cracked it open again and started yelling GO AWAY at it.

No go, that monster just sat there staring. I went into the living room and got my .30-30 rifle and jacked some shells into it, cracked the door open again and took careful aim, then pulled the trigger. That brute didn't even flinch! I emptied that rifle into it and nothing and there was no way that I'd missed at that range.

There was nothing that I could do to warn my parents, we hadn't had our phone installed yet so I couldn't call. So, I just sat up and waited until I heard their car pull up, then yelled out the door that there was a wolf out there and covered them while they hurried inside.

The next morning my dad and I went out to see if we could track it. Taking seven .30-30 slugs center mass should have left a body and/or blood trail. What we found instead was a rotted, dried tree stump about four feet high with seven bullet holes in a nice formation about halfway up. My monster wolf had been nothing more than shadows and a dead tree.

Nice thread :)
Nothing like that has happened to me, though I'm done watching The Exorcist after dark, because everytime I put it on, there's strange noises from somewhere in my apartment :/

...just sayin'...

what were you smoking exactly?

Uh... no.

Who wants to marry a chick who's gonna give birth to a jug of vodka and cranberry juice?

reply

Well it wasn't a coincidence, but when I was young, we watched Return of the living dead.

There were 4 of us, my mate, his older brother and his brothers aboriginal friend.

So we're sitting there watching it, its the moment you first see Tarman come out, and the older brothers friend had gone to the kitchen to get chips and coke. The front window was open and the curtains were blowing. Suddenly he leans in the window screaming "AAAARGH!" at us lol. Given his skin was black as night, we at 10 years of age, absolutely sh*t our pants obviously thinking he was Tarman lol.

This story of yours is made up I think or is a big coincidence, but I don't agree with you about stephen king stories that have been rehasehed into film.
A few example of must see movies based on stephen king stories:
Stand by me
Misery
Shawnsank Redemption
Hearts In Atlantis
the green mile

So I guess you haven't much taste on movies
