is it possible for a cat to eat a huge fish like the one General the Cat had in this movie ? It seems like a lot of fish for one cat to consume in one sitting ( or standing on all fours in this case lol ) - was just curious on this one of course lol . I unfortunately do not have a cat for a pet of my own but do really like them . Great movie and General the Cat was adorable too ( sadly I didn't see him on IMDB's Cast List - not even under the uncredited ones either ).

Cats are greedy and will probably try to eat as much of it as possible until it is sick, then come back and finish it later. I don't think General could do it in one sitting without throwing up!

You're gonna become a very dangerous man.

That's what I thinking but wasn't really sure because I never was a pet parent to a cat ( only dogs ) but I do like them . Thanks so much wanted-doa for your reply .

You are welcome.

I disagree. Cats aren't particularly greedy. Cats, generally, when full will hide left over food for later consumption.

this is more accurate to my experience. my cat eats it's share and then returns later for the rest. it doesn't eat everything in sight or keep begging for more.

There was a garnish on the side of the platter, so I assumed it was a leftover fish from dinner that he was allowed to pick scraps of meat off.

^^^ this. I always assumed they gave the cat leftovers.

I had a Belgian M.D. as a roommate in college who told me a story of a cat in his town in Europe. He and his friend bought a whole beef tongue (maybe 12-18” long) and were bringing it home from the market when they apparently set it down outside for a moment. Came back and a stray cat was dragging the huge tongue away and out of sight. They usually saw this cat every evening, but after this did not see him for three days. He apparently ate the entire thing.

So yes.

I would guess he ate the whole thing, but not at one sitting. In my experience, and I've had a lot of cats in my lifetime (over 20), cats don't eat more at one sitting then they need. They do try to hide leftovers for later meals. This cat probably tucked the tongue into a dark place and fed on it for several days.
