DVD !

As an Australian I am appalled that this fine film has not made it to the DVD format. Shame on the distributors, and powers that be, who seem determined to keep films like this forever hidden from a whole generation of young people who will never discover the stories of the early trials and hardships of our pioneers of the 19th Century.

Good news for film fans - the National Film and Sound Archive are re-mastering this historic movie this financial year, and it will probably be released on DVD and/or Blu-Ray some time in 2011.
There are also going to be a couple of showings of the movie as part of the Burke and Wills Expedition 150th Anniversary Commemoration Program - see www.burkeandwills150.info

Thanks for that news hvorrath. With Jack Thompson being involved in the 150 year aniversary I had hoped to see it on DVD this year, but any time soon will be great. Very fine film indeed
