Beautiful sets and costumes

I have fleetingly remembered the gown Beals wore with the star-shaped collar, the glitter ball and the glitter coming from the ceiling for years afterwards, long after I forgot almost everything else. I just watched it again on dvd, it's very eighties, not as convincing as Coppola's Dracula, or the Frankenstein with DeNiro, or even the Jekyll Hyde movie with Julia Roberts and whatsisname - all of which I thought were very good.

This film is less accomplished, but it has a kind of mid-eighties sheen, a purple-blue glitz about it that is worth observing. The whole movie looks like a deck of tarot cards being flipped around - it uses the same colours. - Watch for the glitter ball scene!
