Mistake during Yankees game that no one else spotted

When Monty faces the first batter in the Yankee exhibition game, he throws 2 pitches. If you watch the 2nd pitch in slow-mo, you can see Spike moving his glove up to catch it as it comes to him. But when the batter hits the ball, it clearly shows the ball having been thrown right down the middle. This was most likely done to make it easy for the batter to hit it very hard, but its still a mistake nonetheless.
