would todd bridges have hurt or helped this movie ?

his character's backgound probably would have been too much like a bender or possibly more of a jock background like andrew clark and may have been redundant.

Todd would never have been cast in a major movie of this era because he was in constant serious trouble with the law between 1983 and 1993.

Lloyd Bridges probably had a better chance at getting cast as a high school kid in this movie over Todd Bridges

I swore that I read somewhere that John Hughes or one of Hughes' associates told Todd Bridges that he doesn't know how to write for black people. For which Todd told Hughes to just right him the way that he wrote for the white characters.

I liked Diff'rent Strokes and Todd Bridges when I was a kid, but I can't picture him in this movie because it was more of a dramatic film, and Todd Bridges was a sitcom star. But I think the movie would have been a more realistic movie with a cast that wasn't all white.

As an additional character or instead of one of the existing ones? I think the film is already character heavy. He could have played a jock the star basketball player perhaps instead of wrestling like Andrew.

I can't see myself taking Todd seriously even though this film was light.
