Detention on a SATURDAY ? Never happens. No logic at all.

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.

It never happened at any school I've attended, nor do I know of any school which had Saturday detention. But I suppose it's possible that it might happen somewhere.

I was well-behaved when I was in high school (93-97), but I did go to Saturday detention for an hour or two for tardiness.

I had Saturday detention a few times for cutting school or massive tardiness or doing something bad. It happens for sure.

It does happen. I've only been to 3 of them. At the time you had a choice of a Saturday detention or 5 regular detentions. So yes Virginia there is a Saturday detention!

Saturday detentions were for more serious transgressions.
I got in a few fights, which were all instant Saturdays. I got a month of them when I bashed the *beep* out of one particular kid, to the point where the Police were called and could have charged me with Actual Bodily Harm... but the full story came out and the kid got a month of Saturdays himself, because he was taking the piss out of me for two years!!

If it was good weather, you'd be helping the groundskeepers. If it was bad weather, you were inside doing homework and stuff.

It happened where I went to high school, but you had to do something really bad to have Saturday detention as a punishment.

We had it at my school. It was actually called (not sure if it was official or a colloquialism) Saturday School.

Just watched it again, so came here and saw this. Not now it would not, but I'm in my 60's and it certainly did in the past.
