This film starts out very effectively, but it loses steam when Karen Black's character is introduced and it becomes a fairly conventional thriller. Still, you've got to hand it to the cast and crew for trying to tackle the difficult subject of astral projection.

I agree. I don't think I have ever seen a horror movie with astral projection as it's premise. It is too bad the movie wasn't more tightly edited and a more effective music score created for this, it might have been a pretty good horror flick!

This is the only horror film I've heard of that addresses astral projection, and I give them credit for trying to tackle that. It's certainly not your run-of-the-mill slasher-type film. I'd like to see more films on the concept, because I don't really understand it.
A horror film from 1975 called PSYCHIC KILLER with Jim Hutton in the title role also address astral projection. It is also known under the title KILLER FORCE.
