Better Off Dead vs One Crazy Summer

I have a tough time deciding which is better so end up watching them together. Each is unique in its own way and every time I watch them I notice something I had not noticed before. Many of the same actors are in each film- Ricky's mom, Charles de Mar, Taylor Negron. I also noticed recently that the 2 child characters- Badger in Better Off Dead and Squid in One Crazy Summer- have virtually no lines. Badger has none and Squid only says "Boscoe!" Also the stuffed bear Lane was gonna give Beth for Christmas appears in Nantucket when the grandma gives it to Squid who in turn gives it to Boscoe. Any other factoids people have noticed between these 2 classic films?

I love both of these movies but I like BoD just a bit more.

Interesting observations. I cannot say that I really thought anything of the teddy bears or the kids not having dialogue as a connection. Aren't these both Savage Steve Holland films? It could just be that these elements are his style.

Now that I think of it, both films have a gray cat, too. :)

Better Off Dead by miles.

I liked One Crazy Summer a lot, but BOD just has so much more heart and laughs.

A huge shame Savage Steve did not make more movies. I loved his quirkiness .
