'... take it in the can!'

I only saw the last coulple of minutes of this movie on a local independant station late at night, and I didn't really know what it was about, but I sure laughed when at the end of the movie Otto from Malcom in the Middle (who I now know is named Kenneth Mars) is marketing a light beer to homosexuals using the slogan "Take it in the bottle, or take it in the can!"

Yes, I'm low brow. But I sure didn't expect to be laughing out loud at a crummy movie at 1am.

Another hidden gem that most "average" people think is stupid...or is it stupid people think is average??

You need to see the whole film.

Kenneth Mars is awesome as usual playing his 'trademark' stentorian Prussian character(Young Frankenstein). As are the other three main characters...all of whom went on to much greater noteriety after this film.

The beer commercial parodies thoughout the film are the highlights. The final commercial with Mars can only be truly appreciated in the context of his character throughout the film.

Actually the film is at it's weakest as it peters out toward the end, Mars's commercial not withstanding.

"Whip out your Norbecker" and see this film!

Yes I have to agree that the commercials were great in the film to watch. I recognized two of the main characters in the film like David Alan Grier and William Russ because they did move on to do better roles in other TV shows or films. William Russ was the father in Boy Meets World and David Alan Grier did In Living Color, In The Army Now, McHales Navy the remake, and a lot of other films too.

Hahaha, yeah I love the "gay beer" commercials at the end. The movie could have been better but for the most part, it's a great satire on beer advertising, and alcohol and advertising in general.

Luckily the whole thing is online: http://www.hulu.com/watch/12842/beer.

Yes that is pretty hilarious all right to see that commercial. LOL You are lucky that they still show films like this late at night where you live at. I wished the local stations here where I lived at would show movies like that or even the major networks. I miss the days of when there was always a movie to watch late at night. I moved back to my home town 3 years ago and when I was living right in between Chicago and Milwaukee, Wisconsin they had a late night movie or two that they would show on CW. I was hoping when I moved back to my home town 3 years ago the CW here would be showing the same style of films that they did up North. They do not because the CW here sucks where I live at.
