why didn't Elite use this old video cover for the cover?

...because they probably didn't own the rights to the VHS art and it was cheaper to make their own rather than buy it? sound reasonable?

Sorry but I think the DVD artwork looks slightly better.

Never cared for the Elite cover art myself. Makes me think of werewolves, not Bigfoot.
