Boggy Creek 2?

How the hell is this a two? Wasn't there 'Return To Boggy Creek' before this one? How is this two?

reply

The second movie didn't have any of the original cast or the director and wasn't a sequel. When the original director did this movie he figured since this was the real sequel he would call it Boggy Creek 2.

OK, that makes sense.

That always bothers me as well. Although I love the film, I think it should be called Boggy Creek 3. There is a film from 2010 called Boggy Creek which takes place in Texas and isn't listed as a sequel on here although I think the connection is obvious. And a low budget film called Legacy of Boggy Creek which was made in 2011 and I plan to watch it this weekend. I love all of the Boggy Creek movies.

I've never heard of those newer ones. If they're not sequels to the original, the 2010 movie could be a remake and the 2011 one a sequel to the remake.

To be honest, I think the 2010 one is just an attempt to rip off the Boggy Creek name for money (or maybe an homage if that sounds less harsh). It is about a Bigfoot like monster, but it takes place in a town called Boggy Creek, Texas rather than Fouke, Arkansas. It isn't listed as a sequel or remake on here, but I know there's no way a Sasquatch movie with the name Boggy Creek could be a coincidence. If it's not a sequel, it's an attempt to capitalize on the legacy of the franchise. I consider it a sequel, though.

And according to Wikipedia, Legacy of Boggy Creek was originally released in 2009 under the title The Skunkape Story, but was later re-edited and released to home video in 2011 as The Legacy of Boggy Creek. And in the description for the trailer on YouTube, it says it is a direct sequel to the original. But it is very low budget. I haven't seen the film yet, but from the trailer I saw on YouTube the costume looked like a Halloween costume you would buy from Walmart.

I hope I was able to help a little.

I'd say the definition of homage is, "A rip-off that critics like."

Ah, so it's a 'Haunting In Connecticut 2: Ghosts Of Georgia' (one of the dumbest titles in title-history) type-scenario.

Sounds terrible. I'm gonna have to check that out. :)
