Most of you haven't seen this movie

If all you've seen is some hacked up spit on and ridiculed version from Mystery Science Theater 3000, then you can't say you've seen this movie at all. Coming here (and also to The Legend Of Boggy Creek page) to rate this film a 1 just because it was on that show is moronic.

mst3k didn't show movies because they were bad, they showed movies that were either in the public domain or cheap enough to acquire.
I'll admit this movie has it problems, but it doesn't deserve the rating it has.

I've only seen the MST3K version, but some films featured on the show, this one itself stands as a decent enough film, even if it's being made fun of. Sometimes for me it's not the comedy, but also something nice to watch.

Could this be Charles B. Pierce himself???

Is that you Tim?

Did the MST3K version cut out all the parts that made it good? Those bastards!

I saw this hunk of garbage on tv when I was about 12 or so years old and still to this day don't know why me and my friend watched more than 2 minutes of it. One of the most excruciating movies I've ever sat through and definately deserves its spot in the bottom 100 and on MST3K.

No. This is not the director.

I should hope not. Charles B. Pierce has been dead since 2010.

I have to agree with the OP, I think maybe the people who rated it into the bottom 100 are normal movie fans and not hardcore horror fans who watch all the B movies they can. I am addicted to bad horror and I can definately say this is the Godfather compared to some of the terrible, terrible films I have seen.

This movie is absolutely amazing. I was SHOCKED to find out it was in the Bottom 100. The people who gave it 1 star were either watching a completely different movie than me, or like you said, didn't even watch it and said "Oh, it was on MST3K, it must be a really bad movie" which to me is an extremely stupid and closed-minded thing to do. Just because it was on MST3K doesn't make it a bad movie. People need to give this movie a chance and decide whether or not they like it by themselves; not allowing some idiotic Bottom 100 list or some comedy show decide for them. I think that if more people gave this movie a chance, the real movie, not the MST3K version, they'd like it just as much as I do.

MST3K did show movies that were bad. Ever seen Manos: The Hands of Fate, Red Zone Cuba, Bride of the Monster, or Future War? All terrible and inept. Not every movie was God awful. Some were downright enjoyable in their own right but almost every film has an element in it that is ripe for riffing.

That said, I do understand why some people get pissy when Misties vote a movie down or give it a bad review based soley on the fact that it was on the show. I wouldn't say it's an immature practice, just very sheep like. I find the same practice of people voting up films that everyone supposedly should like but I don't get my knickers twisted over it. I can make up my own mind so ratings and reviews of films are rather meaningless to me.

I'll say this though, Boggy Creek II is a crap movie. Not because it was MST3K but because the monster wasn't scary and the whole legend is lame. Most, if not all of the acting is wooden and the action is doofy. It was well shot though.

You must be joking. The acting is beyond atrocious, the script was ranged from barely usable to complete crap, the expedition was lead by an anthropologist who sounded like he'd be confused in a 6th grade biology class, etc, etc, etc...

It was complete garbage that MST3K made bearable.
