Probably just me, but I thought a potentially great film with a good cast was
totally ruined.

Blair Brown, Lynn Redgrave, Richard Kiley, and David Ogden Stiers (good cast) manage to keep this from sinking, and David Carradine gives another one of his superb unforgettable performances, this time as Leroy, the caretaker. What a great choice!

I didn't like the kid though. I thought she gave a flat performance and just couldn't carry this film. What a shame! Maybe she thought that Patty McCormick's performance in the original was TOO over the top and she was trying to tone it down. It just didn't work for me though.

No cast can come close to the original cast of this film! I totally agree that David Carradine was a perfect for for Leroy part tho. He was good in everything. I'm so sad that he's gone . . . I'm just glad that this database is here for me to speak of him.

"David Carradine was a perfect for for Leroy part tho."

Especially the part where he died of autoerotic asphyxiation in the boiler room. "Accident" my ass -- that Rhoda is a wily one!

It's alright for a remake. I am glad I watched it. But the original is still far superior.
