Why did ADV have to throw out the original dub?
I am a big fan of Chris Patton, Jason Douglas, Hilary Haag, Luci Christian, and quite a few of the other voice actors used in the ADV dub. And I think they did a great job of dubbing it. Still, I'm upset because they got rid of the other dub done by Central Park Media.
I mean, a dub itself is a work of art. By getting rid of the original dub, ADV made it so people like myself who saw the old US Manga Corps dub can no longer watch it the way we used to, which I think really blows.
I wouldn't mind at all if ADV had made a three-audio track DVD, where you could choose between either the Japanese, the original US Manga Corps dub, or the ADV dub, or if AREA 88 had never been dubbed before, but for them to simply throw out an already existing dub I think...well, you know.
I for one would rather they never made a new dub at all if it really meant having to get rid of the old one. From a business stand-point it would also make more sense, since re-dubbing an anime costs money and AREA 88 already had an English language track.
