Without knowing what objectives you're trying to accomplish with the lesson or what kinds of students you have, it's hard to give advice about lesson plans. Frankly, I'm surprised you're looking at imdb for help; there are many educational sites that have information for educators. In fact, a basic web search yields several websites with lesson plans and lesson guides:

Some of the sites you may have to subscribe to get the plans, but most are free. All I did was type "Anne of Green Gables lesson plans" into Google.

I used to be a teacher, and I was thinking of ideas off the top of my head before I found the websites:

One idea after you discuss the actual novel is to have students form groups and create skits of one scene (preferably one with a lot of dialogue and dramatic tension) based on different movie genres--soap opera, comedy, adventure, mystery, etc. Each student group would be using the same scene, but each would be different based on the group's genre. This works well if you have at least a few students who are willing to act in front of their peers. You can draw connections between the genre of a story and how the dialogue, action, tone, and characters are drawn to fit that genre (that's the educational part). I've done lessons like this in ESL settings and they've worked well, but it might be different in the States (assuming that's where you are).

By the way, I've been to Prince Edward Island, seen the replica of LM Montgomery's house, walked through the Enchanted Forest, and seen her grave. The island is more touristy now, but I have wonderful memories from my time there. Hope you can get your students excited about the book!

Good luck,

jb

Replica? What happened to the original house?
