I'm looking for a gift for my 13 year-old niece. Would the "Anne of Green Gables" be appropriate for her or is it aimed at a younger audience? I want to get her a quality movie that represnts good values. There aren't many modern movies today that fall into that category. Thank you for your comments!

I think "Anne of Green Gables" would make a perfect gift for your 13 year-old niece. It's been one of my favourites since I was about 10. I'm now 28 and I still enjoy re-living the memories on DVD. "Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel" is well worth watching too, although it might be better appreciated by a slightly older audience. Given that Anne is older in this story, the movie deals with more adult themes.

Its a really entertaining, feel-good, story, with values of behaviour that we should never forget.
Any age/gender can enjoy this (and the avonlea movies),any one who loves a great story will be pleased with this.
shareI first watched this when I was about fifteen, although I'd read the book much earlier! It's still my favourite and I'm 18 now, I've asked for it for Christmas hehe

I'm a guy in my thirties and think all young girls should have this given to them. If I ever have a daughter she will certainly watch it once she hits the right age. I think it teaches some valuable life lessons and morals. It's good for guys too but even more for a young girl.
